How to market a Financial Advisors, Financial advisors have a hard time marketing themselves online. Unfortunately they have many restrictions due to compliance. Part of what I help my clients with is maneuvering around these obstacles .

As a financial advisor, your ability to market yourself is vital to the success of your practice, even if you are a fantastic salesperson. Be Succinct

Some of the basic concepts of marketing apply to financial advisors in the same way they do to any other business or profession. A good technique to use in a corporate interview is to give the journalist or interviewer a solid lead concept in perhaps two sentences that concisely summarizes your firm’s key philosophy or benefit. Other techniques include making your words rhyme or comparing your idea or business to another common concept or scenario in order to make a readily understandable analogy or metaphor.

If your interview will be televised in any way, then be sure to focus on your voice inflection and other intangible elements of your speech and image as much as the content of your speech. The effectiveness of this form of advertising will depend heavily upon your ability to exude confidence and competence to your viewers. Many successful advisors have learned that spinning a compelling yarn to their clients can help them to teach important concepts to their clients and close sales. This strategy allows clients to envision a common everyday process or scenario that corresponds to a financial concept. One of the most common stories used in this manner is the stewpot story that mutual fund salespersons use to sell their products. The story basically outlines the similarities between making a stew and creating a mutual fund, where the ingredients that go into making a stew represent the securities that are picked by the fund managers, and each spoonful of the stew then contains a tiny portion of each ingredient in the stew just like each share of the fund offers a fractional interest in each security held in the fund’s portfolio. You can also use stories from your own personal experience to show clients why you care about them and your business. Learn to Embrace Your Failures

I had a learning experience this morning. Not a shitty day, not ruin my week event , but a failure. As much as I hate that punch to the face I love it because it’s a moment to look at why I’ve been kicked Down. 

This  gives me the opportunity to learn something to make myself strong as I go from the bottom to the top. Sure I could rent and rave about what I did wrong , beat myself up  or I can look at it to  say “how can I make my business run better looking at this setback?”

How are you view yourself will directly affect how other look at you. You get to choose if that’s a negative or positive thing. Either way don’t waste you time worrying about what others think about you. You can never make everyone happy.

Sneaky Ways to Sabotage Success
 

Some activities seem innocent enough, maybe even productive or beneficial. If left unchecked, however, they may sneak up on you and usurp precious time and energy. If your workday is feeling scattered and unproductive, one of these shifty saboteurs could be the culprit.

Bedtime bummer. Light from your mobile devices can inhibit production of the sleep hormone melatonin, making you perk up rather than settle in for the night. Avoid electronic devices close to bedtime, especially for things like checking email, texting or gaming, so your brain knows it’s time for bed.

An alarming fact. Hitting the snooze button fragments your sleep patterns and can actually make you more tired for the remainder of the day. If you have trouble waking up, place your alarm out of reach, so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. In a few days, you’ll notice a difference.

Interruption junction. One study of workplace interruptions showed it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back on track with a task that was interrupted by calls, emails or people popping in. For focused work, consider turning off your ringer and pop-up notifications. Hang a sign on your door that says you need 30 minutes of uninterrupted time (or whatever that timeframe may be to accomplish a task).

And about those emails. Of course, we need to stay on top of messages. The trick is to do it at specific times. Schedule windows of time to review and respond to messages. Then, set those expectations with clients and co-workers. This will help you focus. You can always check messages at additional times if you are not working on a time-sensitive task.

Inbox clutter bugs. Retailer, newsletter and tip-of-the-day emails take up time you could spend elsewhere. Use a separate email address for these accounts that you can check at your convenience. And if you use Gmail, for instance, start using categories and tabs to pre-filter your incoming messages.

Multitasking mayhem. Few people are capable of effectively multitasking. The rest of us are multitasking ourselves out of productivity. The next time you find yourself attempting multiple tasks at once, take a few moments and determine what you need to accomplish in priority order. Focus on the most important item immediately and schedule time in your calendar to handle the other items.

Invitation overload. If a meeting is important to your work, it deserves your attention. If not, why are you there? Ask for a detailed agenda before accepting a meeting invite.
